It's a Dogs' Life

Author's Note: A true story and something to share with you. You can also see the timeline I created through the story. In this piece you have an example of my storytelling technique.

Cherokee, he was my play toy, my jungle gym, my blanket, and my dog.
One day a little after my mom and dad got married and my dad was training to become a pilot a puppy started following him around the airport. This dog was living here with his family and I guess he just thought my dad looked like a nice dog person. Well he picked the right person. He followed my dad around for a few days when finally my dad called my mom who was at home and said."I've got a puppy following me around and wondered if I could take him home." My mom said yes. They found out that the puppy was a boy and decided to call him Cherokee, that is the name of the plane my dad was learning how to fly, so the name made sense.

A few years later my parents had a friend over for supper, pizza. Cherokee decided to go up to the table and find out what they where doing. The friend that was over saw Cherokee and pulled a big piece of pizza out of the box. Then she lowered her hand and Cherokee snatched it away from her hand. My parents were alarmed that she did this without even asking them permission! Ever since that day Cherokee begged and begged for human food.

A year later my brother was born. He has autism, or special needs. He would climb, jump, and tackle Cherokee. I don't know exactly what Cherokee did but my parents say that he played nice with my brother.(Zack)

Then I was born 2 years later, I saw what Zack did to Cherokee so I pretty much copied him.

Then after another 4 years my sister was born.(Emma) I bet you can guess what she did with Cherokee.(samething as Zack and I)

Now I'll skip all the way through his life until 2007. Cherokee is about 15 dog years now and in June He started acting funny. He walked sideways and didn't eat as much. My mom took him to the vet (we thought he was having a stroke) and the vet said that it was a desease in his ear. He also said that it wasm't a stroke and that he would be fine. We were so relived.

In 2008 on 4th of July he did have a stroke. This was at around 5:00am so my dad woke saw him and rushed him to the vet. They vet ended up having to put him down.....
:(

Now we are looking for a house and then we will find a puppy to care and love for.
